Pet Peeve!!

Hey guys.  Theme for the week anyone?  I decided that I would make it Pet Peeves.  So, If you have no idea what to talk about you can just ramble about some annoyance of yours.  It seems like a sweet deal to me, i personally like being able to rant without ranting at someone.

Irony.  I HATE it when people say things are ironic when they are coincidences.  THERE IS A DIFFERENCE.

If something can be classified as a "coincidence"  it is usually not "ironic".

sorry about the short post but...this pretty much sums it up...

Not Knowing What to Post

Today
Is a Saturday
Rain is drip drip dripping
From the roof of my messy house
But it isn't really raining
At all

And so here I am
Sitting
Thinking
Waiting
For something to happen
Anything
On a dull red couch
But nothing's really coming
At all

And you're sitting there
Reading this
Thinking, "Katie
Stop writing this.
Blog for me.
This is stupid."
But I really have nothing to say
At all.

*****************

That was necessary.

Freedom!

At last! Finals are over. Time to celebrate!!! Let go and have some fun, because you all deserve it. I know that I definitely made some fun during these past couple of days just to relieve some stress. Actually, it was more like some certain friends of mine did some crazy stuff that I just happened to be around to experiance. I wish I had my video camera with me to share those crazy moments :)

Ah well. Monday is another day off, and another day to partaayy! Then comes Winterim, which should be interesting. I'm in Basic Needs with Ms. Lange. Of course it's going to be interesting :D

It's a Friday night, and I'm going to go watch a movie (here at home) with mia familia. So Adios. But not before the Photoshop picture of the week. Which reminds me: I am super excited for Photography next semester!!!

Yeah. It's a picture of Snoqualmie Falls, but with purple water! It looks kind of magical, huh? That's what I really like about this picture, and was the effect I was going for.

Enjoy!

O.o

That title is how I feel.
I gotta go and study for Theo + English + APUSH.
Life is cruel.
Here's a joke to lighten it up:
It's tooootally lame joke. From the first to the last word. Honestly. But its so stupid, its somewhat hilarious.

Q: Why do bears have fur coats?
A: Because they'd look stupid in anoraks!

BAHAHAHAH okay fail.

Here's another, if you get it.
So a blonde, a brunette, and a red head are walking down the street. The brunette turns to the others and says, "Is this some kind of a joke?"

RIGHT so if you get it, awesome, kudos to you.
If not, I didn't get it the first time either.
Ciao for now.
Over and Out.
Cheers,
Ellen :)

L'enfant qui voulait etre un ours

Hmmm, what do people think? the title is the Title of a Movie I kind of want to see.  It's french and if it sticks, post with the title, and a synopsis of the movie.

So, basically, there's this bear that looses its baby ( :( ) and so when it finds a little baby <> he starts to raise it.  and then the stupid other eskimos come and kind the kid after hes grown up, and that is sad because the bear and the esquimau miss each other.  I don't know what happens in the end because I haven't seen it yet, but I want to!!

Well, sorry about the short post, but I'm trying to figure out how to make a Prezi show.  If any of you are in A block English with me, it's the thing Michelle used to make her presentation.  It's very confusing, but It's pretty cool too.  If you have time, I would try it, I mean, nows the time too because it's blackout week!

Alrighty Guys. Thanks for that.

It's a Sunday. Today I'm going to study a lot, so the post is going to be fairly short. But I am really happy that everyone posted! I love coming home and reading these after a long and stressful day.

Now, in light of the upcoming tests, I feel as if we should take time to appreciate this great opportunity.

Ode to Finals
Finals aren't a test
To see who is the best
They aren't here to make you fail
Or make you groan and wail.

Stay strong my friends
This isn't the end!
These finals will not kill you.
For if you pass
And kick their ass
Your GPA will reward you.

Yeah, that was probably the crappiest thing I've ever written.

WHOA GUYS LOOK AT THIS. IT'S CALLED A PHOTOSHOPPED PICTURE.

Hey. Notice the P theme? Yeah. Catherine kind of broke that rule, but I've decided I'm going to bring it back. Haha. I just thought of Justin Timberlake and how he brought sexy back.

Anyways. How was your first week back from vacation? It's a bit stressful, and with finals next week... well, it's going to be... Yeah. Not nice. So let's talk about more pleasant things.

Wednesday was my birthday! 16 at last! I feel so old... haha ok not really. I am so ready to get my driver's license. I just need to take driver's ed. Wonder when that will be... Guess what one of my presents was? A Sony Bloggie! And it's pink! I love it. Overall, it was a great day. Thanks so much everyone for the well wishings. You truly brightened my day :)

Well I can't really think of anything else to say... Other than I found this new song by Far East Movement called Rocketeer. It's amazing. Go listen to it.

Ok here's the namesake of the post: The Photoshop Picture of the Week!!! Here you go!

This first one was sort of the original picture that I started with. The one below is what happened after I tweaked it.

Done!

Adios,

WHOA GUYS LOOK AT THIS. IT'S CALLED THE BIGGEST FAIL OF MY LIFE.

As we all know, Forest Ridge is a special place.

We have no social life, constantly deprived of sleep, etc.

But we have fun, right? With all our friends and teachers...uuhhhhh hold up.

.....Teachers. FR Teachers.

FAIL.

Don't you all think some crazy teachers are absolutely nuts?!

There's one specific one who thinks it's normal to make hazardous lamps, hit poor Punky, ditch their students, lock their students in a room, break ovens while baking....etc. (cough cough...stargirl/flameboy/firefly/porcelain/moon dust/pretty pretty princess/their yabba lizerd)

Then there's this other teacher who is just....awkward? Except not...she's just another FAIL. She tells kids to "sell themselves" (but not in THAT way- good advice, right?), steals their lunch money, writes ransom notes, thinks a land bridge still exists between Russia and Canada, has issues driving (aka getting lost at a mall parking lot/getting hit by a bus), etc. (cough cough...FEET!)

Oh, but there's actually one really nice teacher at FR. CHACO!!!!! (rafferty) She's totally on our side (we think) and doesn't have a problem going against Flameboy and Feet. It's all good.

Well...we have to deal with these teachers every single day....

Pray for us.
Pray that we don't die from homemade brownies and lamps.
Pray that we don't ever get stuck on a landbridge (that doesn't really exist).

Oh, and pray that we somehow get to corrupt these teachers. Cause that's a nice bonus too.

FAIL.

Oh, btws, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MS.CANTU!

Bye!

WHOA GUYS LOOK AT THIS. IT'S CALLED A POTATO.

It's also called PRESUMPTION and PERSUASION in one PARICULAR PALESTINIAN direction. And I am not saying I am pro-Israeli. I'm just saying we NEED to hear the other side. I am not pro-Israeli Government's Decision to Build Walls. But that doesn't mean that's what all Israeli's believe. Palestinians are afraid of the Israelis. The Israeli's are obviously afraid of the Palestinians as well. Sure, there is that whole land dispute, but that's not the only thing creating these boundaries. Maybe it started it, but it's not the only thing going now. Are they afraid of suicide bombers? Probably. Nobody wants their kid or friend or sibling or spouse blown up. But not all Palestinians do that. But Israeli's are probably very afraid of that. However the Palestinians take violent routes because they are often shown them, and it is one way for them to remind Israeli's of their presence and try and assert their freedom. I don't live in this conflict, so I don't want to say stuff I don't know, so I'll try not to make assumptions, just base predictions based off of human nature. When humans are scared, they build walls. The Great Wall - containing China from feared outside forces? When humans are scared, they take unnecessary measures and involve the military, and make presumptions. The United States - afraid of terrorists, send military action to random parts of the globe and suddenly many Americans fear everyone in a turban. COMPLETELY irrational, but it's a fact of some Americans.
I want to hear the other side. I won't say I agree with it, I won't say it's a valid idea, or that it makes sense or whatever. But I deserve, we deserve, to hear that side. I'm throwing that out there. I don't know if you agree. I don't know if you care. I don't know if you are open minded enough to care. That was harsh. Sorry. I don't know if you want to see both sides. But I want to know.
I understand the Palestinians are the minority here. I understand they have gone through hard stuff. They have a rough life, they aren't living it easy. Trust me, I understand. Their opinion should NOT be ignored or under-valued or anything like that. However, the other side is completely important. To hear, to evaluate, to brood on. It is important. This is not a one-sided, one-idea conflict. Please. Please. Can we please hear other opinions about what is happening and about why it is happening.

I'm sorry if you have no idea where this is coming from, we had a Jerusalem trip meeting today. So far they have been pro-Palestinian, which isn't bad, but I'd really like to hear some other opinions. We wrote an essay on this for Segall. I thought this trip was to help lead to understanding. So far I've just heard a lot from one side. Understanding is defined many ways, a few from dictionary.com being: comprehension; a state of cooperative or mutually tolerant relations between people; a mutual agreement; settling differences... You can't settle a difference with one side of the story. Just saying.

As you can probably see, something has really ticked inside me. I asked for the other side, and they said "Read the news." NO. NO. NO. NOT THE ANSWER I WAS LOOKING FOR. I don't want the sob-story side of the Palestinians. I want the side of the Israeli's that has their reasoning, not the Governments. Sure some opinions will be the same, but not all of them. Not all of us agree with what the American Government does. Can't deny that.
Segall and Palmer said they would work on it. I hope so. I really, really, really hope so.
I was feeling pretty downtrodden voicing my opinion today in the meeting because it didn't feel like other people agreed. But then Haley spoke up and said she agreed, that really made me feel better. Because having the teachers not say, yes, I agree, we need to see the other side, just did not feel right to me. I'm sorry if you don't agree. But can you at least see my logic?

Siiiiigh. Leave a comment about this if you want. If you agree, then I'm glad. If you disagree, you are entitled to that opinion. It would be great if you let me know in person too. If you are of either opinion. Just some response to that. Thanks.

Okay, that felt really good and now this is a really long post that many people probably won't read. But I had to write it.

Other note: GUYS. SOME OF THE REASON PEOPLE DIDN'T POST WAS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THEIR LAPTOP. Cool? Cool. It's not that I didn't want too :)

Joke: What do you call a baby potato?

Cheers,

WHOA GUYS LOOK AT THIS. IT'S CALLED A PARROT

How was your break? Mine was very fun. It is sad that it is over, but it is a new year and it's sort of fun to "start over". I feel like someone pressed the refresh button on my life. sort of.

I replaced the backspace button on me keyboard with a label that says 'avada kedavra'

Way to not post over break people. Lets try to make this a regular thing that i don't only check mondays and saturdays.

In history right now. hmm...
I'm going to try to not go on hulu or facebook until the weekend for a month.Let's see if I can do that. Anyone want to try with me?

I like the exchange student's hair. Just saying.

WHOA GUYS LOOK AT THIS. ITS CALLED A PENGUIN.

It's so cute!!! <3  if you set it as your background it starts to look like one of those lubies :D
Yeah...sorry Katie, couldn't resist :).  Anyways, that is not the topic of this post.  I once again have something (mildly) interesting to talk about.  Well, we'll see, last time I said that, the post was only like and inch and a half long, and then I just added a bunch of pictures...hahaha, I'm really crossing my fingers right now.

Don't you all feel kind of like a Rapunzel up on the hill?  Sure, most of us have pretty short hair, but all the other markers are there.  We're at the top of a (kinda) tall hill, and in every other direction if the society that surrounds us.  The one we aren't really connected to.  I'm pretty sure with the technology we have today, we could escape without the help of abnormally long hair, or some random tights-wearing prince to aid us, but the idea is still pretty much the same.

Anyways. So.  Society....Boys.  Honestly, isn't everyone just sooo confused. [ From penguins to boys is kind of a confusing jump.  And it is, about 4,000 miles ;). ] I mean, have you ever had a crush on a guy, and thought he was completely clueless? Is it just me that's thinking that statistically, all the stereotypes and movies that make guys out to be completely oblivious...they have to be based on something. But at the same time, they really can't be that different from us...right? and how many stereotypes are actually true? still, it leaves me wondering all the time.

Still, Any of you who have been snubbed by a guy in the past...I hope you get what I'm rambling about because otherwise that means I'm just insane and/or only know total idiots.  *sigh*

Hey!~ look at that! that's about four inches right?  SCORE!  haha :)

--TTFN -- btws, i guess katie started a trend, si tu veux, title your post like this, with a different p-word...let's keep it kid-friendly guys.... ^.^

WOAH GUYS LOOK AT THIS. IT'S CALLED A POST.

Yep. Y'all need to post. It's official.

New Years was so fun! We had a silly string fight at midnight in my drive way (fun to clean), drank champagne (sparkling cider) right out of the bottle, and kicked each other's virtual asses in the world of Halo. I love Halo. I especially like sneaking up on people with laser swords. That's the best.

ANYWAYS.

It's 2011! Only 710 days until the apocalypse! Haha. Just kidding.

But seriously, it's the new year. It's a new beginning (kind of) for us to change (to channel Obama) and for us to look back.

MOVING ON.

I resolved that I would not post this until I was done reading my English book. So you know what that means?

I FINISHED. OH MY GOD.

FHkhfljdsashflkjdsahflkjdsfhlkdsajjjjjjgf

lkdsahflkjdsaaafhlkjsa

And thus the ecstasy is composed.

hflkjdsahflkjdsahflkjdahflkjdsahfafhdsaj*Ilied*fhjdlksahflkjdsahf.

OKAY I'm finished now.

I have something new to add to my weekly musings titled "Ode to Something I hate" where I will praise something I do not like.

Ode to my Feet

Feet, oh feet
You are so neat
You get me out of bed
In the cold and in the heat
You bring me to my places
You take through my day
I used to hate your wrinkles
But now they are okay
You help me dance when I feel happy
You keep me going when I'm blue
And plus you look so hot
In my new bright red Tom's shoes.

Yeah. I definitely spent a lot of time on that. For sure.

I just feel like it's important to see the bright side of things in life because, frankly, life sucks. It really does. But if we can't get past that, then we can't get past ANYTHING. We'll be missing the sunshine right in front of your eyes.

Katie's YEARLY Challenge (as this is the first post of 2011): Find one magical moment of 2010. Figure out why it was so magical. Then, channel that magic energy into 2011 and presto! You will be happy (and a wizard [maybe]).

Happy Non Denominational Winter Holiday!

Christmas
Hanukkah
Kwanzaa
Boxing Day
What else?

Guess what I got for Christmas.

No, really, guess.

...

A HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS VIDEO GAME.

Am I a nerd? Yes. Do I love every minute of it? YES.

I also got an acoustic guitar, which is pretty cool. His name is Maxwell.

Christmas has always been a weird thing for me. Well, not when I was younger. When I was little, Christmas was basically the day where I woke up insanely early, flipped out from joy, and crashed at about one, then woke up and ate, and then crashed. Now, I am old to not only wake up at 8 0'clock, but I am also able to see the meaning behind this day. Since I don't believe in God, it's a day to be with family. This causes problems, as it would for anyone who is not peas in a pod with their fam. But it's also a day to just set aside things that are bothering us and come together without arguing about grades or taxes or any of the corruptive shit out there. It's a day to be happy.

101 dalmations

I WANT A BUNNY (^.^)

anyways, as I was about to click "new" post i noticed that this will be the 101st post.  Whoohoo

anyways, remember when i told you guys that I would be giving short posts because of the chore that is reading Walden?

Well, today i have so far managed to read a total of four chapters....so i pretty much gotta go.

Believe me, I would MUCH rather be holding a filibuster right here on this page, unfortunately, time is running out and it is time for me to be less procrastinatory-ish

to make this less depressing for myself i will fool myself into thinking this is actually a little longer than it is with some pictures -- THEY'RE SO CUTE!! <3

A Mixed Bag.

This break is going to be a mixed bag. That does not mean it will consist of a shopping bag and a blender. It means that it will be filled with good things and bad things.

THE PROS.

1) Christmas

2) New Years

3) Sleep

4) Sock puppets

5) Ginger bread houses (I'll post a picture next week)

6) Time for my art (I'll post some of that as well XD)

7) Time for my video games.

8) Time to actually READ A BOOK.

9) COOKIES.

These things look great. Oh the fun I shall have. Regardless, longer breaks mean that, along with good things, some shit will surely go down.

THE CONS.

1) APUSH studying.

2) Having nothing to do.

3) English project.

4) Prolonged exposure to my family.

5) Braces.

In regards to the school work, I am quite frustrated. I mean, honestly? Mr. Geraghty (aka G-money), you're an English teacher. I would presume you know about words. How about BREAK. It's spelled B-R-E-A-K. It means "a period of rest in which humanity should not be forced to complete semester projects" or something along those lines.

As for the last one, this is bothering me quite a bit. First of all, I won't be able to eat, which is sad. Secondly, as most people are aware, I am a complete boy fanatic. I love boys. Unfortunately, BOYS DO NOT LOVE BRACES. Oh how I suffer.

I hope people realize my sarcasm. Sometimes I feel like people just take me for a giant bitch when, in actuality, my humor is just drier than a desert.

On a different note, my Christmas tree is better than yours (probably not). You think otherwise? We've got Kyle from South Park, a penguin, a "Baby's Last Christmas" and a walrus. Yep. This is how the cool kids deck the halls.

Winter Vacation!!!

Hey Everyone!

Today is super exciting, because it marks the start of winter vacation! I am so ready to relax and have fun with family and friends. I actually just finished putting up some last minute Christmas lights outside, and so I'm freezing. My mom is going to make me some hot cocoa, so this might be rather short.

After dinner, I plan on relaxing in ways that include playing the Sims 3 and watching TV on our brand new 58' Plasma. It's so awesome! (Movies at my house!) I love it. Also, I hope to read a lot during break. I already have to read that book for my Jerusalem trip, but I hope to find some other works of fiction. Hopefully I'll get some for Christmas.

How was everyone's KK experience? Did you not expect whoever had you? I know I had lots of fun buying gifts for Ellen, and I don't think she knew it was me (right?). I loved her face this morning when I said I had her for KK. It was priceless. And it let me know that I did a pretty good job keeping my identity secret.

Well, I'm super excited for break. Let's hope it snows!

BTW, there is no Photoshop picture of the week because I'm posting this from my home computer and I don't have my pictures on this computer. So yeah. Come up with a mental image. I'll post one next Friday, on Christmas Eve*.

Love Y'all lots!

-Nathalia

*Subject to change. It's Christmas Eve. I might forget :D

A Very Glee Christmas

Right now I'm listening to the Glee Christmas Album which has inspired my title for this week's post. Glee music really helps me focus when I'm doing homework, although sometimes I find myself singing along while I have my pencil paused over my math homework. Then of course my brother comes along to tell me to be quiet, which of course makes me only want to sing louder :D .

I've been working pretty hard this evening on homework. How about you guys? I know it's really hard to focus, so maybe put some upbeat music on or take a break? Actually, I just came back from my hour long break (hehe). I was watching Smallville with my fam, and then I learn after a totally epic ending to an episode, the series doesn't pick up again until January 28th! I don't want to wait that long! Ugh. Well whatever. I still have my Glee.

In other exciting words, I got my renewed passport! I'm okay with my picture, but it could have been better. My dad thinks it makes me look like I'm 12... thanks dad. Getting my passport just gets me all excited about Jerusalem. Speaking of which, I need to start reading that book that Segall gave us... However, I'll do that when I have less pressing things to do, like APUSH reading, APUSH worksheet, Feast Wish letters (! - I got the Matrix), and math homework among various other things.

Just looking around my room though keeps me motivated to keep going. I have a mini pink Christmas tree here on my desk, complete with ornaments, along with a string of pink lights above my bed and winter garlands around my windows. I love getting into the Holiday spirit, because before you know it, it's gone.

Ok, now I want your opinions: Do you think playing pokemon at our age would make us losers? Because I don't think so, but a certain friend of mine needs a little convincing...(you know who you are!) So yeah, leave a comment with what you think about that. Speaking of video games, do you guys have any suggestions for fun games? I know I have a few on my Christmas list.(LEGO Harry Potter anyone?) You know, it's okay to like video games. I do not frown upon them; in fact, studies have shown that people who play more video games have faster reflexes. So that's a good reason to play. Although that's more like action games, like Halo and Call of Duty. Not like I would know... Ok, yes, I'll admit it. I really do like playing a lot of my brother's video games. But most of the time he won't let me play them because he's afraid I'll "mess up" his game. You know, I think it's perfectly ok if I want to just ride around a horse in Red Dead Redemption, or shoot a few aliens down in Halo. I mean, seriously, sometimes you just need a good killing spree to release some stress. [This applies only to video games!] So yeah. Go waste an hour in front of your Xbox or Wii or even your computer.

So I haven't been really creative lately due to homework restraints, so here's a picture I did a while back in Photoshop. It's the Hollywood sign, but made to look like it's on a small scale, like in a tiny town or something.

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!

To-toro; to-to-ro

I love Totoro. It's such a great movie. If you haven't seen it, then watch it this break! If you do and comment on it in your post, I'll give you something. I don't know what it will be yet but I'll figure that out later.

I'm after school until 7:00 tonight. That'll be fun.

So last night the plan was that after glee was over, 5:20ish, I was going to go hang out with my mom (who's taking MS drama pics) and she had a burrito for me to heat up for dinner. So my other mom shows up and says that she is taking me home early so that I don't need to stay at school until 7:00. That's good, right? Here's the catch: I don't get my burrito at 5:20, I have to wait until I got home. Then mom thought I was high because I kept talking about my burrito on the way home...haha. But I was looking forward to that burrito all freaking day! I was really disappointed. Ohwell.

what else is new?
^not meaning I'm always dissapoint=ed, meaning what else has happened lately...ok.
We set our Christmas village up! It's really pretty :)
And we got our tree. But we don't have any ornaments on it yet haha.

Is anyone else sort of stressed lately? I am, just a little bit, but still. School is sort of crazy before break just because of tests. but 6 more days of school! (7 for people that aren't in spanish).

I literally have zero inspiration right now.

Solitude

Doncha just hate it when you have something you can finally talk about for more than three inches of blog-wall and then when it's your day...its just gone.

Anyways.  I just thought of a depressing topic.  I have no idea why (Okay i do, im listening to it on pandora and I have no idea why its on my channel... >.<)

Solitude (the song's title) - amazing how you can feel so alone in a crowd of people ...Okay. No. Wtf is this???? I'm not taking about this, i have no idea how to continue....

Also, the song just changed!

ANYWAYS.  So....I guess I will talk about.. about about about aboutaboutabouuuuut.  hmmm.

*sigh*  STEREOTYPES!!!

(i just saw my new STILETTOS)

so, why is is that when someone hears the word Stiletto...they think stripper/hooker/pro?  When I told people over the past few days about my new (definitely not hooker-ish) shoes they asked "like stripper heels"? I feel bad for my poor shoes, all that they did was make me taller :) .

You guys, this is pathetic -.- I'm completely out of juice.

The problem is I have no idea how many people actually read what we write, and who I might ward off with my opinions. Sure I have a count and the names of followers...but what about those random folks who have the link saved but would rather not commit?

*sigh*  maybe someday I won't give a shit about offending others (okay thats a bit extreme) and just write about whatever the hell i feel like...LIKE HOW BLAINE AND KURT ARE SOOOOOO CUTE

http://www.hulu.com/watch/198555/glee-baby-its-cold-outside

I LOVE THIS VIDEO.  it will make you smile if you are at all cool and/or are having a bad day.

Okay, that was a bad example, I really don't care if people are annoyed at my advertising cute glee scenes.  :D

Shout-out to Ms. Boerth.  I WANT THE NEW POSTERS WHEN YOU'RE FINISHED WITH THEM!~!!!

SATurDAYYYY (and sUnDaY)

Heylloooooo. Today is Saturday night. Tonight is Saturday? I don't know. But I am bouncing with energy and I don't know why. I need a good book.

I just got back from babysitting my cousins! I love them so much. Except my cousin Caroline almost started crying when I didn't know how to get their Wii to work. >:|

I am undecided about Winter Ball. To go, or not to go! If I do go, I'll invite this really hot guy I know from Sequim named Mason. He'll have to sleep at my house that night. HMMMMM. This could be interesting...

Or I could invite Sam. But honestly, Sam and I do not click like Mason and I.

Even though I haven't seen Mason in over a year.

ALL THE MORE REASON TO INVITE HIM.

Except he's like 6 feet tall.

I hate being short.

And young, because I'll be one of the only people who can't drive on the softball team. DAMN.

I'm Back!

And she's back! After a very busy couple of weeks and cooperating wireless, the Friday Poster has returned! Sorry about not being able to post... But that's behind us. Right? Well I would hope so. Let's see. This week was kind of busy, but not at the same time. Like we had to get back into the routine of school and shiz, but really, I don't feel like we had a ton of homework. It was so nice to have a field trip in the middle of the week; it broke up the tension of the rest of the week, although I am going to be quite busy this weekend. And Spanish gets another field trip next week! W00t!

You know, you can have a lot of fun with finger puppets and some friends... just saying. (Hehe, Cailyn/Kylie/Catherine)

I have a mini Christmas tree in my room! It's on my desk. It has pink lights and cute little ornaments, but it's nothing compared to everything else we put up around our house. Sigh. I love the holidays. I mean seriously, in the last two days, I've managed to watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer twice, Santa Claus is coming to Town, and some Madagascar Christmas special. Yeah. And I added a Christmas station to my Pandora radio. It's pretty intense.

What are you all doing to get prepared for the Holidays? Leave a comment and let us know! BTW, anyone else just like super excited for Kris Kringle? I know I am! I already have one of my presents for my KK. It's going to be interesting to see when I can go and get the other presents. Probably not this weekend...

Also, here's the Photoshop picture of the week (bet you guys missed it, huh?!)

I actually made it last week during the Snow Days, but if you want, you can download and use it the next time we have a snow day, either as an icon for IM or your background.

Now I really need to crack down on homework. :(

So Adios for now!

Dysfunctional

If you really think about it, we're WEIRD. I could name hundreds of things that make us dorks...

#1. We give teachers nicknames- FEET, FLAMEBOI, CHACOS, etc

#2. We like to eat lunch....in the gym foyer.

#3. We stay up late- oh, not doing hw....playing flable.

#4. We spend our time playing LIFE.

#5. One of us is a "puffkin"- with pressure points

#6. We dub ourselves "dwarfs"...oh, but now "Sleepy, Sneezy, etc"- more like "Chill, Neurotic, Undefined"

#7. We have a Pink Blob.

#8. We're Gleeks :)

#9. We call each other idiots.

#10. We predict the end of the world.

#11. <------Bad Number

#12. The fact that I am writing this at 11:22 P.M (<-------another bad number) makes me nuts.

Dysfunctional.

Yup, that defines the bunch of us.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WITH A MATH QUIZ TMRW- WE SHALL NOT FAIL. (haha, fat chance)

the Scarlet Letter!

As you know, today we saw the play the Scarlet Letter! Personally, I loved it. It was definitely a variation of the book, but it was portrayed very well. Some parts were a little odd, and there was a lot of yelling, but overall it was really good! What did you think?
On another note, but on the same topic, some of the audience was ... immature for lack of a better word. I did laugh at some of the comments made, but that doesn't mean I appreciated them. I mean, seriously people.
Other than that, I didn't do anything today!
For Kylie, books I recommend:
--The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
--I am the Messenger by Marcus Zusak
--The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex
--Artemis Fowl Series by Eoin Colfer
--Airman by Eoin Colfer
--My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
--A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle - I haven't actually finished this yet, but I've started and its good

Movies I recommend: - WATCH AT LEAST ONE OF THESE THIS WEEKEND
--Catch Me if You Can
--21
--Pokemon (Cailyn BAHAHAH)
--Finding Nemo
--Monster's Inc.
--The Lion King
--The Incredibles
--HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON (I want this movie fore Christmas XD)

Okay so this joke is basically really lame, but I miss my cousin right now and after Kelly told him this super lame joke, he kept saying it. So I thought of it because I miss him.

Knock Knock!
--Who's There?
El!
--El who?
ELEPHANT.

OK, wasn't that terrible? But I laugh when I think of it :)
Over and Out.
Cheers,
Ellen :)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

...or at least it was beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Now the snow is melted, but hopefully we will get more later!
What's on your Christmas list? this is mine:

>Money for Jerusalem
>a sing-a-ma-jig
>Gift card to Sephora
>DVDs
>Gift cards to Barnes and Noble
>Shoes (high heels, toms, snow boots)

That's it :)

COUNTDOWN!
24 days until Christmas!
12 1/2 days of school
Not counting: Conge, Scarlet letter field trip, feast wishes, spanish field trip:
9 DAYS OF LEARNING!
:D
this is exciting.

OH! I went to the Harry potter movie again with Natasha. More mistakes:
18. They didn;t go to the joke shop
19. On James Potter's tomb stone, his birthday was written as the 17th of March, but it is actually the 27th.
20. Harry didn't read the bottom writting on his parent's grave (the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death)
21. The trio didn't make Dobby a tomb stone!! (Here lies Dobby, a free elf)

But it was fun to go again.

What else is new guys?
I'm in RUSH right now (regular united states history, SO much cooler than APUSH)

----------

Rachel and made unicorn/narwal horns today.

----------

Catherine and I just had a heart attack. #^$*@&#%#$^%@

----------

It's okay now.

----------

What's with that random scarecrow in the history room?

----------

SCARLET LETTER FIELD TRIP TOMORROW :D
This is exciting. Remember dressy free dress! Like Bea said, guidelines are in the hand book. Thank's Bea!

----------

I'm getting a hair cut soon. Just a trim. should i get side bangs (well, better ones) again? I think I'm going to. heavy and long ones so they aren't all short and weird and can be pushed back easily.

----------

I started watching Pretty Little Liars. It's not like it's a good show, but I'm addicted now. It stars again in January. Ahh!

----------

I'll post more tonight. Stay tuned :)

Back!
I just made Ms. Cantu Cupcakes for the teen feed on Friday! The batter is SO good!
Does anyone have any good book recommendations? comment on this post, or include them in your posts! I should go work on HW!

Heyy

Okay.  I'll admit it.  I've lied to you.

Last Week, I had already known that I had completely abandoned my attempt at a NaNoWriMo.  Purely because I just don't have the time right now.  In between everything I have going on...I must play Bubble Shooter.  Which is why I now hate humanity.  It's too hard to resist and completely depressing.  I mean.  I've wanted to write for a while...and all of a sudden.

WHAM

you now have a bubble shooter addiction.  Thanks...Thanks a lot.

Go waste your time...Just so i don't feel so pathetic -.-
http://www.cybersalt.org/b/bubble-shooter

Also, with the addictions.  I can't stop eating those cookie chocolate sticks.  Though, I'm positive I could quit that anytime i wanted.

The Problem is...I don't want to quit.... >.<

Anyways.  I gotta go, I got homework to do...*sigh* maybe it will help kick my Bubble Shooting habits. :)

An Islandy Saturday

I am currently on an island... and my fingers are hella cold.

Let's hope they don't fall off, shall we?

I played beer pong yesterday! It was fun. Except there were very limited supplies (i.e. one can) and the beer was the root kind so it was not as climactic as we would have hoped. Oh well.

Guys, I think you should post... because this is the second week in a row where there has not been a Thursday or a Friday.

Guess what!

I bought a hat.. with a button on it. :D

I love being up on San Juan. It's a much needed break from the crazy happenings on the mainland.

How were your guys' Thanksgivings?

Mine was good (ish), except I got attacked (kind of) by a satanic dog. GAH.

My cousins were cool, though. Molly, she's five, was playing with her Nativity Scene Playmobil along with Megan, and all of a sudden we hear her shout "It's SUPER JESUS!" Hella funny.

Bubbles

I have always wanted to blow bubbles in below freezing weather. What would happen? They would freeze right? HOW COOL? But I don't think 29 degrees is quite cold enough...

So. What's up? It's vacation! A full week of it :)
But homework... ewwwwwwwwww.
Let us not talk about those indecencies.

I wish this snow was packable, because then I would make a snowman. Teeheehee.
I also left my Harry Potter book at my mom's house, but I wish I had it over here so I could enjoy it and use it to distract myself from indecencies like APUSH. So I started reading A Wrinkle in Time and I like it so far! You should read it, I think, I'll give another report when I finish.

Well I don't have much to say right now, maybe I'll post something more later.
Without further ado, the joke. Well not really a joke, just a good line from Calvin and Hobbes.
"Getting an inch of snow is like winning 10 cents in a lottery."
Which is funny, because us Washingtonians are super happy with an inch of snow. :)
Okay when I find a better one, I'll post that.
Over and Out.
Cheers,
Ellen :)

Snow day: installment dos

Happy snow day #2 everybody!

This morning mom woke me up with pancakes. I had one bite and literally spit them out. EWW buckwheat pancakes taste like soggy warm uncooked almond butter batter things. GROSS! It's almost two o'clock and I haven't eaten anything yet...I should do that.

HARRY POTTER (If you haven't seen the movie, and don't want any spoilers, skip this post completely, but it doesn't give away really anything. Just my complaints :) plus a few likes...)

Harry Potter 7 is my favorite book. I've read it twice (going on more!) and I thought the movie really screwed it up. They left out so many important things. Heres a list (no order)

1. Harry didn't take Madeye Moody's eye from Umbridge's door at the Ministry. And unless you were paying close attention you would never know it was there. There was no mention of this afterwards.
2. Harry didn't put the snitch in his mouth the night of recieving it from Dumbledoor's will, instead he waited a few months then randomly popped it in his mouth for no appearent reason.
3. At Mr. Lovegood's house there was no mention of radishes! And if you didn't read the book, you wouldn't know why he had to keep Harry at his house! PLUS THEY LEFT OUT THE CRUMPLEHORN SNORKACK!! ahhhhhhhhhhh
4. Bellatrix carved MUDBLOOD into Hermione's arm
5. It seemed to me that after a bad thing happened (Hedwig's death, Madeye's death, his eye at the ministry. the prosecution and skepticism of 'muggles' at the ministry etc.) no one made mention of it, they were just like OMG Madeye died, but then didn't seem to care a minute later.
6. They don't save muggles at the ministry, they only save themselves.
7. Harry doesn't go to Fleur and Bill's wedding as a cousin, he just shows up as himself.
8. I don't think there was any mention of shell cottage.
9. In the book, Harry and Voldemort had an ongoing connection and Voldemort shared images and sounds with Harry, such as the Gregorovich and the thief. In the movie, Harry had one or two visions of Gregorovich being a wand maker and of the blonde thief taking it. There ws no mystery or build up.
10. At Godrick's Hollow, Nagini just explodes from Batilda Bagshot, instead of protruding from her neck as she does in the book.
11. There is no mention of how horrible and false Reeta Skeeter's: The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore is.
12. In addition to this, and maybe it will come in part two, there is no mention to the battle between Grindelwald, Albus, and Aberforth in which Ariana dies, or the battle between Albus and Grindelwald. Also there is no mention to Dumbledore's family life (his sister being a squib, his mother taking her away to the Hollow, his father being sent to Azkaban etc.)
13. I just think that a lot of things were left hanging and unexplained, like the snatchers, Undesirable #1 etc.
14. NO MENTION OF THE TABOO ON VOLDEMORT'S NAME :O
15. So at the frozen forest pool, Harry said accio sword, and it moved a little but was stuck in the ice. Once Harry meltes the ice, why didn't he just try again instead of skinny dipping?
16. They didn't try to figure out who cast the deer patronus. They just accepted that a random one was randomly in the woods and randomly led them to the freaking SWORD OF GRYFFINDOR! Bloody hell...
17. In the book, Hedwig's cage falls off the moterbike and then she is hit, In the movie she's just randomly flying around and then shot down. I cried non-the-less :( I also cried when Dobby died! They did a very good job on that I think.

OK theres so much more, but that's enough for now.

Things I liked about the movie:

1. How they did the tale of the Three Brothers in semi-cartoon animation.
2. Harry and Hermione dancing! That was cute because there was no romantic chemistry, but Harry was just trying to cheer her up. Also I LOVE THE SONG PLAYED! (o' children by Nick Cave. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKWydA69o9E )
3. A lot of people didn't but I liked the locket scene. I thought they did a good job on making the images of Harry and Hermione look unreal. It did go a little too far, but ohwell. The things that they screwed up in this scene was that Voldemort doesn't come out of the locket (I don't think?) and also it goes on for longer than 30 seconds.
4. The colors were nice in the film. It wasn't happy obviously but it wasn't a super dark feel either.
5. I loved Hermione's beaded bag! hahaha

Ohkay sorry for rambling. <3 <3 <3

Look. I am posting. Unlike half of you.

I think people need to remember to post!

ANYWAYS.

Guess what movie I saw on Friday.

Yeah, that's right.

HARRY POTTER.

It was so amazing, but I know lots of you have not seen it so I will give nothing away.

BUT IT WAS AWESOME.

My god.

Short post, I know. I was away all weekend and I have to work!

Feet

I don't know.
I thought, what should I title this post?
And my head said,
Feet.
So.
There you go. Strange Brain I've got, eh?
Ehhhhh.

Here are some thins you should do:
Love: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQwptdvlMok
Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC_q9KPczAg
~Those are both good songs~
Thanks for them Kylie :)
There are a million others too, seriously, Kylie's music is amazing.
BE EXCITED:

LAUGH:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MahTKZDHXaA

Anyway. I just read Chapter 16 for APUSH and now I need to go eat food and work on rereading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix because Harry Potter is the story of my life.
I
Love
It.

GAAA! THOSE BOOKS ARE GENIUS!
However, I also recommend:
-The Book Thief
-I am the Messenger
-The True Meaning of Smekday

I CANNOT WAIT FOR HARRY POTTER MOVIE. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

However, I also feel really, really, really, really, really sad. After this, there is one more movie.
Just.
One.
More.
:(
HP's been in my life FOREVER. Seriously. I remember talking with this kid Dean Kayler at lunch in 5th grade, and we were talking about receiving our Hogwarts Letters. I mean, we KNEW it wasn't going to happen, but that didn't stop us from dreaming about it.
SERIOUSLY Harry Potter is my life.
Anyway, I'm really sorry if you don't like Harry Potter or something and have been really bored by this post, but IT IS SO IMPORTANT.
Okay.

In the light of the mood, enjoy:
How many house-elves does it take to light a wand?
>>Just one, but they better hope the Ministry doesn't find out about it.<

How many Hufflepuffs does it take to light a wand?
>>You tell me how many Hufflepuffs there are, and I'll tell you how many it takes to light a wand

How many Hagrids does it take to light a wand?
>>Two. One to light it and one to explain why his pink umbrella just lit up.

Hey, how many centaurs does it take to light up a wand?
>>None. Mars is unusually bright tonight.

How lame is it that I actually laughed?

Say Yes to the Dress

That was a lot of fun tonight! Great speech, and Catherine and I were cracking up when that picture came up of the roller coaster.....pahahhaa

HARRY POTTER SOON YOU GUYS! I'll admit that I wasn't that into it (well it didn't show) and now people are giving me crap about that, but it is the last movie (technically) and I am just getting a billion times excited. And I went to the Harry Potter exhibit with Erin and Johanna. oh my freaking God. We were crying - no joke. It was so amazing.

Anyways, I have a ton of homework to do, so in the spirit of Cailyn's posts, this one is a shortie. but it wouldn't be complete without a picture, so...

Oh how times have changed.

My Weekend as of Late

Weekend. When I think "weekend," I think, "Oh, hello there, Saturday and Sunday. Let's be productive, yet fun, shall we?" Yes. That is what I think.

I do not think, "Oh, hello there, two extra days. Let's cause drama now, shall we?" No. That is not what I think.

Because there was hella drama that did not need to occur involving a bottle of Clorox and an arm.

REGARDLESS.

I have been quite productive this weekend. Excitement for me.

This is what has gone down as of late:

1) Homework, doing it.

2) Homework, not doing it.

3) A snuggie, using it.

4) A Sam, texing him. (see more for later)

5) A double batch of cookies, making it

6) An APUSH paper, writing it.

NOW FOR MORE ON SAM. He's kind of a tool... haha. He thinks truth or dare works over texting. I mean, half of it does. You can ask anything you want. But the daring part, not so much. Honestly, you don't even have to do what the other person says because THEY CAN'T MAKE YOU so HA.

PS: Ms. Seaton's gonna kill me because my pants are too tight. Oh dang. Death by pants? I think not. It'd be like dying of salmonella from raw cookie dough. It's sad an all, but honestly, you'd have been killed by an EGG.

Relaxing? No Way!

As with most of you, most of my day was spent doing homework :( I have waaayy too much to do this weekend. But I'm going to try and put that behind me now.

So, other than doing homework, what else did I do today... Well, I listened to music while doing homework. And I went to get my passport renewed. Then my family and I went out to dinner at Zeek's Pizza in Bellevue, and then stopped by the University Book Store. That was fun. I found some Photoshop books that I really wanted... Anyways, after that we went to Bellevue Square to find some pants for choir on Sunday. I had a really hard time finding normal, black jeans. After many hours of searching (both today and previously), I ended up buying some black skinny jeans (because I got so frustrated, and was like "screw this") that don't look too much like actual skinny jeans. Anyways, then we walked around and stopped by another store, where I ran into Johanna! That was a nice surprise :) After that we came back home, where I continued to slave away over my stupid take home math test. >:( it is very frustrating.

Oh! I thought I would also mention yesterday's tech rehearsal. It was boring the first half because it was just cues with sound and lights, so Catherine and Cailyn and I went out and talked about Fable and tried to take a nap, but that didn't really work out. Then we had dinner, which was a blast (some funny convos going on). Once we got back to work, I got to use a power drill (hehehe) to install a fire exstinguisher, and then worked on other stuff. Also, we did like this dark wash/brown tint thing to the walls, so they don't look like plain white walls. It took a while, but it looks pretty good if I say so myself. AND I got to fufill my dream of going up into the rafters off stage. It was a pretty awesome day!

Now for a Photoshop pic:

I'm actually behind on making new pics, so this is an older one. It works really well if you tile it as a desktop background. For this one I was just playing around with sparkles and stuff.... so yeah.

Over and out,

Nathalia

Jesi

Jesi...
Jesus + Jesus = Jesi.
As in, when Sneha and I are both Jesus. He he he. Best religion class ever. True, it happened yesterday, but our skit was hella funny, what with the injured man, busy Levite, a Sammaritain who didn't know what a Sammmaritan was, and a donkey. Oh and some robbers who were Rio and Sydney... yeah that was fun stuff.
Anyway.
Today is WEDNESDAY. I went to the blog, and this was my train of thought:
Gaaa who ever is posting today has still not posted yet.
What day is it?
Wednesday...
Who posts on Wednesday?
...
...
OH SHOOT THAT'S ME.

Yeaaaah.... so that's that.
The other day we talked about slang words in French class. I'll just say, the French think they are hypercool. Heeheehee.
RIGHT. Weeeellll... today Kathryn and I went on a run. Down the traily thing to this park and then back up. Yup and then we played basketball... only not really.
I MADE A FREE THROW. YESSSSSS! Super glad I'm scoring not playing.
I wish it was lax season.
Where is February???

So basically, nothing much to report. Let me find a joke.
Math Joke:
Trigonometry for farmers: swine and coswine...

Hehehe. OINK.
Okay, I'm pretty sure I'm done.
Over and Out,
Cheers,
Ellen :)
PS: The Bible website for Theology is my number five visited cite... that is not okay...

Anyways, today was a pretty nondescript day. I'm in chemistry right now learning about Ions...thrilling. Lot of homework tonight between a math test tomorrow and that English paper...ew. I am actually pretty happy with it but It's going to be too long. It's 4.5 pages and I still have 2.5 body paragraphs to write.
What else...
Now I'm in drama. Today was stumble through...more like a fall through a pit through...hahaha. I knew my lines at least...pahaha

I should go. Lots of homework to do (study for math mostly)..

I LOVE YOU TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

Ohhhhh my GOD!!!!

So. Last night was the dance. All I can say was that YES I had fun. Even though it was a lame dance. I had oodles of fun.

1. This one guy asked Amy to dance, and then his hotter and taller friend asked me.

2. Creepy Asian prowler asked me to dance. (prowlers are guys who walk around the room checking people out)

3. Prowler #2 asked me to dance. He wouldn't leave so I was basically in a complex wall sit for ten freaking minutes. My God did my quads burn.

4. Prowler #2 came back. We got split up by this parent who was all "we don't do this here." Except, well, we kind of actually do. She was terribly mistaken.

5. Asian prowler returned. We were interrupted by Amy, thank goodness.

6. Slow danced with a freshman. His group accidentally dressed like Alvin and the Chipmunks (i.e a tal one in blue, a short one in green, a normal one in red). I danced with the tall one and made the mistake of asking him about it. Their outfits were not intentional. Luckily I am skilled in the arts of improv (um not really) and worked my way out of that little pickle.

Except my not-a-date couldn't get a ride, and that sucked quite badly. :'(
